Congratulations! You have become the proud owner of a swimming pool - what now?
07. April 2025.

The construction works are finished, the pool is filled with water, and you may be wondering - what next? Don't worry!

Our company Ivano bazeni d.o.o. when putting the pool into operation, it educates its clients about the proper maintenance of pool water and the dosing of chemicals. We also offer the services of seasonal commissioning of the pool, regular maintenance and closing of the pool at the end of the season.

If you have decided to take care of your pool yourself, this blog will help you master the basics of maintaining crystal clear and safe water.

First steps after filling the pool

After filling the pool with water, it is necessary to bring the pH value and chlorine level to optimal limits:

✔ pH value: between 7.0 and 7.6

✔ Chlorine: between 0.3 mg/L and 1 mg/L

To measure these values, use special testers, which will help you precisely control the chemical composition of the water.

1. Adjusting the pH value

The first step is to balance the pH - if it is outside the recommended limits, use a pH regulator. Depending on the need, add pH minus or pH plus in the form of granules, previously dissolved in water, to achieve the ideal balance.

2. Adding chlorine

When the pH is balanced, chlorine is added as a disinfectant. First, shock-chlorination is carried out, and later, for regular maintenance, multifunctional tablets are used, which ensure long-term disinfection and prevent the development of bacteria and algae.

✅ Note: After shock-chlorination, wait at least 24 hours before using the pool for the first time.

3. Prevention of algae growth

Once the pH and chlorine are at the appropriate levels, it is recommended to add an algaecide to keep the water clear and free of unpleasant deposits.

Regular pool maintenance

To ensure clean and safe water, follow these guidelines:

🔹 Check the pH value and chlorine level twice a week and correct them if necessary.

🔹 Use multifunctional tablets for continuous disinfection.

🔹 Regularly remove impurities from the surface and bottom of the pool to reduce the need for chemical treatments.

Proper maintenance will ensure carefree and safe enjoyment of your pool throughout the season!

Automated robotic cleaners are very effective in removing dirt, algae and debris from the bottom and walls of the pool, which helps maintain better water quality.

By regularly using the filter cleaner, you extend its life and thus extend the life of the hot tub.

Balancing the pH of the water is essential for keeping the pool clean and preventing corrosion of the equipment.
